South West Kerry is an Anglers Paradise with Lake, River, Shore and Deep Sea Angling to choose from, it appeals to all Anglers. The fishing season opens on 17th January and closes on 30th September.
There is excellent sea fishing from the shore or boat with a large variety of fish including Shark. Many records for the heaviest types of fish are held in our waters and Valentia is a noted sea fishing station.
There are many parts of Ballinskelligs Bay which are suitable for beach, rock or surf fishing. Flatfish, Ray, Dogfish, Tope, Mackerel, Wrasse, Bull Huss, Pollack are just some of the varieties caught from the shore while Bass are readily taken and this can even be accomplished on a fly, an experience rarely forgotten.
Boats are available taking parties of up to eight anglers. There is a plentiful supply of all types of inshore fish but strong tackle is recommended as some fish run into championship sizes. All tackle can be supplied.
